The “Blue Meanies” are a 5-piece band who play “music to dance to” – hits from the 1960’s through to the 1990’s – and are equally at home performing as a 1960’s combo.
We are both versatile and professional, with excellent harmony vocals (often 4 part). We are based in Bath but are more than happy to travel anywhere (within reason!).
The band members have an impressive musical pedigree having played and recorded with Tears For Fears, Stackridge and The Korgis. Bass guitarist James Warren wrote the classic 1980’s Korgis hit “Everybody’s Got To Learn Sometime” a song which always goes down well with audiences – especially when they realise the original composer is singing it!
Both our lead singers’ vocal talents are in demand regularly at sessions with singers Lance Ellington and Mary Carewe from BBC’s “Strictly Come Dancing”.
Over the past 15 years we have played at well over 200 weddings, milestone birthday parties, Christmas and New Year parties as well as a host of corporate events.
Previous and current clients include Allied Dunbar, Toyota UK, Countrywide Estates, White Clarke Group, Screwfix and the Crest Hotel group. We also entertained at the testimonial dinners for rugby star Mike Catt and former England rugby coach Brian Ashton.
